Gilles De Schryver
Gilles De Schryver, born on December 12, 1984, is a multifaceted Belgian actor, writer, and producer known for his contributions to film, television, and theater. He earned his master's degree in drama from the Hogeschool Gent Conservatorium in 2009 and is fluent in both Dutch and French, which has allowed him to work in a variety of linguistic contexts.
De Schryver's theatrical career began with prominent roles in French-language productions at esteemed venues such as the Théâtre National and the Royal Mint Theater. From 2010 until 2016, he served as the artistic director of the Ghent theater company 'the KIP,' alongside Yahya Terryn. During his tenure, he not only performed but also wrote and directed numerous productions, showcasing his versatility across Dutch, English, and French stages throughout Europe.
After the KIP's reopening in 2017, De Schryver transitioned to a freelance role as a theater maker and performer. In addition to his stage work, he has made significant strides in the film and television industry through his production company, De Wereldvrede, which he co-founded with director Gilles Coulier.
