Cheri Caffaro

Cheri Caffaro, an iconic figure in 1970s exploitation cinema, was born in 1945 in Miami, Florida. She first gained recognition as a model in the 1960s after winning a Brigitte Bardot lookalike contest sponsored by "Lifetime" magazine. Caffaro became a household name for her role as the daring and seductive undercover agent Ginger McAllister in a series of cult classic films that captured the essence of drive-in theater. Her performances in "Ginger" (1971), "The Abductors" (1972), and "Girls Are for Loving" (1973) showcased her ability to blend charm with a formidable presence, embodying a female anti-hero reminiscent of a funky James Bond.

In addition to her memorable portrayal of Ginger, Caffaro demonstrated her versatility in roles such as a wealthy socialite in "A Place Called Today" (1972), a fierce revolutionary in "Savage Sisters" (1974), and a lethal assassin in "Too Hot to Handle" (1977). Although her acting career was brief, she left a lasting impact on the genre.

Caffaro later transitioned to writing and producing, co-creating the outrageous comedy "H.O.T.S." (1979) and serving as associate producer for the horror film "The Demons of Ludlow" (1983). Her final credit came as a voice actor in the animated series "Extreme Ghostbusters" (1997). Eventually stepping away from the limelight, Cheri Caffaro now resides in Los Angeles, where she has taken up beekeeping.
