Gérard Caillaud
Gérard Caillaud (10 April 1946 – 28 January 2023) was a distinguished French actor and theatre director whose contributions to the performing arts left a lasting impact. He was born in Poitiers and pursued his passion for drama at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique, graduating in 1971. That same year, he joined the prestigious Comédie-Française, where he captivated audiences with numerous performances, especially in works by Molière, until his departure in 1978.
Caillaud's directing career flourished when he took the helm of the Théâtre des Mathurins from 1984 to 1997.
