Gottfrid Svartholm

Per Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, commonly known as anakata, is a prominent Swedish technology expert recognized for his pivotal role in the world of file sharing and internet privacy. He is best known as a co-founder of The Pirate Bay, the renowned BitTorrent site, alongside Fredrik Neij and Peter Sunde, as well as for being a co-owner of the web hosting service PRQ.

Svartholm's insights and experiences were highlighted in several documentaries, including Good Copy Bad Copy and Steal This Film, where he discussed the infamous police raid on The Pirate Bay in May 2006. In 2013, Svartholm emerged in the spotlight again when WikiLeaks revealed his involvement with the organization during the release of the controversial "Collateral Murder" video, which depicted a U.S. airstrike in Baghdad in 2007. He was instrumental as a technical consultant, responsible for managing essential infrastructure and was part of the "decryption and transmission team," contributing significantly to the organization's operations. Notably, one of his companies had previously provided hosting services for WikiLeaks, showcasing his ongoing commitment to internet freedom and privacy.
