Jon Landau (July 23, 1960 – July 5, 2024) was a distinguished American film producer renowned for his significant partnerships with director James Cameron. Among his most celebrated works is the monumental romantic drama Titanic (1997), which he co-produced and earned him an Academy Award for Best Picture. Landau played an integral role in the groundbreaking Avatar film series, which began in 2009 and continued with several sequels slated for release until 2029. As of 2025, Titanic and the Avatar films are ranked among the top four highest-grossing movies in cinematic history, with the original Avatar leading the charge.

Beyond these iconic titles, Landau's production portfolio includes notable films such as Solaris (2002) and Alita: Battle Angel (2019), both collaborations with Cameron. He also contributed to the family classic Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) and the comic book adaptation Dick Tracy (1990).

Tragically, Landau passed away from cancer in 2024, but his legacy continues with the posthumous credits for the final three Avatar sequels. In November 2025, his memoir, The Bigger Picture: My Blockbuster Life & Lessons Learned Along the Way, was published, offering insights from his remarkable career and personal journey, with a foreword by Cameron, further solidifying his impact on the film industry.
