Anna Sten
Anna Sten (Ukrainian: А́нна Стен), originally named Anna Petrivna Fesak, was an actress who was born in Ukraine and later became an American film star. Her initial foray into the entertainment industry took place in the Soviet Union, where she performed in various stage productions and films. Following her time there, she moved to Germany, where she achieved recognition through her roles in several notable films. Her talent caught the eye of film mogul Samuel Goldwyn, who brought her to the United States with the intention of crafting a new cinematic sensation capable of rivaling the iconic Greta Garbo. Unfortunately, after a series of films that did not meet expectations, Goldwyn opted to release her from her contract. Despite this setback, Sten continued to pursue acting sporadically, ultimately making her last film appearance in 1962. Throughout her career, she showcased her versatile talent, leaving a mark on the film industry during her time.
