Amandine Chantal Henry, born on September 28, 1989, is a prominent French footballer who excels as a defensive midfielder for the Division 1 Féminine club Lyon and the French national team. Beginning her football journey at the young age of five, Henry initially played on boys' teams until she turned 13. She made her senior international debut in 2009 and has served as the captain of the French national team since October 2017.

Henry launched her professional career in 2004 at Hénin-Beaumont before moving to the prestigious Clairefontaine academy for two years. In 2007, she signed with Lyon, the most successful women's club in France. Despite facing a significant setback due to a knee injury that sidelined her for a year and a half, she demonstrated resilience and returned to the pitch, helping Lyon secure their dominance in women's football.

Throughout her tenure with Lyon, Henry played in the UEFA Women's Champions League final for three consecutive seasons starting in 2010. She achieved notable recognition at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, earning the Silver Ball Award as the tournament's second-best player and finishing as a finalist for the UEFA Best Women's Player in Europe Award.

After a stint with the Portland Thorns, where she contributed to the team's NWSL championship victory in 2017, Henry returned to Lyon. Her impressive performances and leadership continue to make her a key figure in women's football.
