Jill Jones

Jill Jones was born on July 11, 1962, in Lebanon, Ohio. She hails from a diverse background; her mother, an accomplished fashion model, is of African American and Native American descent, while her father, a jazz drummer, has Italian roots. Raised primarily by her grandparents, Jones moved to Los Angeles after her mother remarried. At the young age of 15, she embarked on her music career as a backup vocalist for Teena Marie, who was managed by her mother.

Jones gained prominence in the 1980s and 1990s through her collaborations with the legendary Prince, showcasing her vocal talents on several projects, including her self-titled debut album. Her work during this period solidified her place in the music industry and established her as a notable artist.
