Morgan Geyser gained notoriety in May 2014 when she, along with her friend Anissa Weier, committed a shocking crime in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The duo attacked their classmate, Peyton Leutner, inflicting 19 stab wounds in an attempt to appease the fictional horror character, Slender Man. Miraculously, Peyton survived the brutal assault after a passing biker discovered her in distress and called for help.

As a result of their actions, Morgan was sentenced to 40 years in a psychiatric facility, while Anissa received a 25-year term. Their case drew significant national attention, igniting discussions about mental health, the influence of internet culture, and juvenile justice. In 2021, Anissa Weier was granted supervised release, marking a significant turning point in her rehabilitation. Meanwhile, Morgan's journey saw her being conditionally released to a group home in early 2025.

In November 2025, Morgan made headlines once again when she managed to remove her ankle monitor and went missing near Madison, Wisconsin. However, she was located the following day and subsequently returned to custody.
