Keith Skinner
Keith Skinner, born in 1949, is a notable British actor renowned for his contributions to film and television. He embarked on his acting journey with a role as Bruno in the 1966 film *Mademoiselle* and gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Balthasar in Franco Zeffirelli's acclaimed 1968 adaptation of *Romeo and Juliet*. In this iconic film, Skinner's character plays a pivotal role, notably galloping on horseback to inform Romeo, portrayed by Leonard Whiting, of Juliet's tragic fate, before accompanying him back to Verona.
Throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, Skinner made multiple appearances in television, including a memorable episode of *The Jazz Age* in 1968, and a recurring role as Harry Lampton in the series *Man at the Top*. His television credits also include roles in *Z Cars*, *Play for Today*, *Out of the Unknown*, and *Beryl's Lot*. In 1976, he featured in the film *The Slipper and the Rose: The Story of Cinderella*.
Skinner's versatility continued with his performance as the obsessed boy in the 1977 mini-series *Jesus of Nazareth*, followed by a role in the musical *Guys and Dolls* in 1980. In 1985, he guest-starred in an episode of the iconic series *Doctor Who*.
After a brief hiatus from acting, Skinner transitioned to a new career as a crime historian in 2004, and in 2001, he lent his expertise as a historical consultant for the film *From Hell*.
