**Biography of Simon Bamford**
Simon Bamford has carved a niche for himself in the realm of horror, most notably through his portrayal of the ‘Butterball Cenobite’ in the iconic films 'Hellraiser' and its sequel 'Hellbound', as well as his role as ‘Ohnaka’ in Clive Barker's 'Nightbreed'. His cinematic journey began at the tender age of 16 with a role in The Who’s 'Quadrophenia'.
Bamford's talent was recognized when he performed as 'The Fool' in a London staging of King Lear, leading to an invitation from director Clive Barker to join 'The Dog Company'. This collaboration included working alongside Doug Bradley, known for playing Pinhead, and director Oliver Parker. Following this, Bamford reunited with Barker in 'The Book of Blood' and appeared alongside horror legend Tony Todd in 'Dead of the Nite'.
In 2015, Simon showcased his versatility by completing four projects, including the horror short 'Hunger'. He played the ‘Witchfinder General’ in ‘The Haunting of Margam Castle’ and took on the role of art gallery owner ‘Mr. Peindre’ in ‘14 Ghosts’. His work extends beyond horror, featuring in the poignant LGBTQ film ‘You Are My Sunshine’ and the acclaimed 'Starfish'.
With a rich theater background spanning from Kuala Lumpur to Stockholm, Simon has become a sought-after guest at horror conventions worldwide. His accolades include a ‘Best Actor’ award for his role in ‘Great Expectations’, a ‘Lifetime of Torment Award’ at Texas Frightmare, and a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the Russian International Horror Film Festival.
Looking ahead, Simon will be seen in the horror anthology ‘Mosaic’ and the Hungarian film ‘Aftermath’, both set to release in 2024. Currently, he is preparing for two new films in the upcoming year.
