William C. Vaughan hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he was born in a now-demolished hospital—a fitting backdrop for a talent that would soon flourish. His journey into acting began in childhood, captivating audiences as a mystical Santa Claus during his Grade Primary Christmas Concert, a role that required him to master a German accent over eight weeks with a dialect coach. By the time he reached Grade Four, he showcased his skills further as the cunning Carlton in the musical *Shortstop*, impressively mastering baseball techniques in just two days of training. He continued to explore diverse characters, including a rapping toucan, before gracefully returning to the role of Santa in his Grade Six concert, marking the end of his elementary acting career.

After a hiatus to focus on playing the tuba, Vaughan rekindled his passion for acting in high school, where he took on a challenging role in *West Side Story*, undergoing extensive makeup to portray a Puerto Rican character. His early career included working at a video store while creating short films with friends. Seeking new opportunities, he moved to Vancouver to attend the Vancouver Film School, graduating with honors. His professional debut came with a brief appearance in *I Love You Beth Cooper*, leading to roles in the acclaimed Emmy-nominated web series *Battlestar Galactica: The Face of the Enemy* and the ABC/CTV/BBC series *Defying Gravity*. Most recently, Vaughan stars as the lovable but dim-witted Matt in CBC's *Men With Brooms*, based on the film by Paul Gross, further solidifying his place in the acting landscape.
