Marshall’s journey into the entertainment realm began in an unconventional manner. At just 17, she enlisted in the United States Navy, where she dedicated nearly five years of service. Her commitment to service was evident in her work with the Sexual Assault Victim Intervention program, advocating for fellow sailors. She completed a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and earned numerous accolades, including the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, before leaving the Navy as a Second Class Petty Officer.
After her military service, Jennifer graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Wesleyan University with degrees in International Politics and Spanish, later earning a graduate degree in Administration of Justice from American Military University. She continues to support the veteran community by serving on the Veterans and Community Oversight and Engagement Board and the Veterans Committee for California’s 38th State Assembly. In 2020, she recommitted to service by joining the California State Guard. Recognized as a "Hill Vet" in 2019 for her impact in the entertainment sector, Jennifer actively mentors veterans entering the film industry and engages in philanthropic efforts, including her work with the nonprofit Pin-Ups for Vets. Her dedication to volunteerism and community service is a testament to her belief in giving back.
