Hailing from Vicenza, Italy, Zanuso embarked on his cinematic career later in life, making a significant shift from being a video store owner to a multifaceted contributor to the Italian erotic film industry at the age of 60.
Using a variety of pseudonyms, such as Luigi Atomico, Dario Lussuria, and Rodolfo Babilonia, Zanuso crafted a distinct filmmaking style he calls "crazy surrealism."
