Jade Johnson

Jade Johnson, known professionally as Jade de Lafleur, hails from Louisiana and has been immersed in the world of music and entertainment since she was just five years old. Inspired by her mother, a soloist in their local church choir, Jade was introduced to the art of performance through the powerful songs of Whitney Houston. She soon became a soloist in her youth choir, marking the beginning of her musical journey.

Her career took a significant leap when she signed with J Records, a label founded by Clive Davis, as part of the girl group Sophia Fresh. While pursuing her passion for music, Jade also focused on her studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Prairie View A&M University. Following her graduation, she toured the globe as a Background Singer/Dancer for the talented Solange Knowles.

Jade made waves in the music industry with her debut EP, "Jaded," which included the standout track "Smoking In My Car," co-written with renowned songwriter James Fauntleroy. The title song also appeared on Solange’s acclaimed "Saint Heron" compilation album, receiving accolades from prominent media outlets. In addition to her musical endeavors, Jade showcased her acting skills as the original "Miss Mississippi" in the hit play "P Valley" and recently co-starred in Marvel's "Luke Cage." With her diverse talents, Jade is a true triple threat, navigating her artistic voyage with remarkable flair.
