Robert McKim (August 26, 1886 – June 4, 1927) was a prominent figure in the silent film industry, known for his compelling portrayals of antagonists. Over the course of his career, he featured in an impressive total of 99 films between the years 1915 and 1927. McKim is particularly celebrated for his role as the main villain in the 1920 classic, The Mark of Zorro, where he starred alongside the legendary Douglas Fairbanks.

In 1923, he shared the screen with the iconic Lon Chaney in the silent adaptation of All The Brothers Were Valiant, showcasing his versatility as an actor. One of his final performances was in the incomplete silent film The Mysterious Island, which was based on Jules Verne's novel and starred Lionel Barrymore. Although McKim filmed his scenes for this project in 1927, the film was not released until 1929, and he did not receive credit for his work.

Tragically, Robert McKim’s life was cut short when he passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage in Hollywood at the age of 40. His contributions to the film industry during the silent era left a lasting impact, and he is remembered for his captivating performances that often placed him in the role of the villain, a testament to his talent and charisma on screen.
