Abby Corrigan
Abby Corrigan, born in 1998 in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a talented actress who emerged from a rich theatrical background. Just five minutes after her twin sister Emma, who has Down syndrome, Abby's artistic journey was nurtured by her parents—her father, Mike, a manager of sign language interpreters and an aspiring musician, and her mother, Mitzi, a casting director. Growing up immersed in Charlotte's vibrant theatre scene, which includes the Charlotte Shakespeare Company and Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Abby developed a passion for acting early on.
She honed her skills through classes at the Children's Theatre of Charlotte and seized every opportunity to audition, while also engaging in ballet, dance, and vocal training. While still in school, she co-founded the Treehouse Acting Company with friend Matt Mitchell, aiming to provide young performers with greater opportunities. Their collaboration led to several productions, including the acclaimed original teen rock musical, *Cyber Soul*.
Abby attended the Northwest School of the Arts, furthering her education in performance. Her impressive stage credits include iconic roles such as the Emcee in *Cabaret*, Daniela in *In The Heights*, and Maureen in *Rent*. In 2014, she was honored with the Blumey's Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Fiona in *Shrek The Musical*.
In film and television, her credits include *Headed South For Christmas*, *Homeland*, and *Banshee*. A significant highlight in her career came when she was cast as Medium Alison in the National Broadway Tour of *Fun Home*, performing across the U.S. from 2016 to 2017.
