Cláudia Varejão hails from Porto, Portugal, where her artistic journey began with a comprehensive education in creative arts. She attended the Creativity and Artistic Creation Program at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, collaborating with both the German Film und Fernsehakademie Berlin and the São Paulo International Film Academy. Additionally, Varejão enhanced her visual storytelling skills by studying Photography at AR.CO in Lisbon.

Her filmography includes a notable trilogy of short films: *Weekend*, *A Cold Day*, and *Morning Light*. Varejão made her feature film debut with *Ama-san*, a captivating documentary about Japanese divers, which garnered numerous international accolades. This was followed by *In The Darkness of the Theater I Take Off My Shoes*, which intimately explores the lives of a dance company’s members. Her latest project, *Amor Fati*, is set to premiere in 2020, and she is currently developing *Wolf and Dog*, promising to showcase her unique narrative perspective in fiction.
