Gaspard Thomas Ulliel (November 25, 1984 – January 19, 2022) was a prominent French actor celebrated for his remarkable versatility and compelling performances. He garnered significant recognition for his portrayal of a young Hannibal Lecter in the thriller Hannibal Rising (2007) and for embodying the iconic fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent in the biopic Saint Laurent (2014). Additionally, Ulliel lent his voice to Jack Frost in the French version of the animated film Rise of the Guardians (2012) and portrayed Anton Mogart in the Disney+ series Moon Knight (2022).

Ulliel began his cinematic journey with a role in Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001), and his career took off with a standout performance in Strayed (2003). He was nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actor for three consecutive years, earning accolades for his roles in Summer Things (2002), Strayed (2003), and A Very Long Engagement (2004), ultimately winning the award in 2005 for his portrayal of Manech, a World War I soldier. His performance in Saint Laurent earned him a César nomination for Best Actor in 2015, and he secured the César Award for Best Actor in 2017 for his role in It's Only the End of the World (2016). In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Ulliel was made a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in France in 2015. His filmography includes notable works like The Last Day (2004), Paris, je t'aime (2006), and The Princess of Montpensier (2010). Tragically, Ulliel's life was cut short in a skiing accident on January 19, 2022, at La Rosière resort in Savoie, France.
