Daniel MacIvor
Daniel MacIvor, born on July 23, 1962, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, is a prominent Canadian actor, playwright, and director renowned for his significant contributions to theatre and film. His academic journey began at Dalhousie University in Halifax, followed by George Brown College in Toronto, where he honed his craft.
In Toronto, MacIvor founded the theatre company da da kamera, which became a creative hub at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. He has established himself as one of Canada’s leading playwrights, with a portfolio that includes acclaimed works such as *Never Swim Alone*, *This is a Play*, *Monster*, *Marion Bridge*, *You are Here*, *Cul-de-sac*, and *A Beautiful View*. To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of da da kamera, five of his plays were published together under the title *I Still Love You* in 2006. This collection earned him the prestigious Governor General's Award for Drama.
