Eric Flynn
Eric Flynn was born on December 13, 1939, on Hainan Island, China, where his father served as a customs officer for the Hong Kong government. His early years were significantly impacted by the war, as his family endured several years of internment in a Japanese prisoner of war camp during the Japanese invasion of China. Remarkably, decades later, Flynn portrayed a British prisoner in the film *Empire of the Sun*, which is set in a similar camp.
At the age of 13, Flynn relocated to Britain, where he attended Chatham House School in Ramsgate. He later secured a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where he met his first wife, Fern.
From his first marriage, Flynn welcomed two sons, Daniel and Jerome, both of whom have pursued careers in acting, along with a daughter named Kerry. In 1981, he married his second wife, Caroline, originally from South Africa. Together, they had a daughter, Lillie Flynn, who completed a three-year acting program at The Central School of Speech and Drama in 2007. Their son, Johnny, has also carved out a niche for himself as an actor and singer. Eric Flynn's life reflects a rich tapestry of experiences, both personal and professional, deeply influenced by his early challenges and artistic endeavors.
