Stéphane Bern
Stéphane Bern, born on November 14, 1963, is a distinguished journalist, radio personality, and television presenter of French-Luxembourgish descent, renowned for his expertise in matters of nobility and royalty. Throughout his illustrious career, he has received numerous accolades, including the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France, the Order of Grimaldi from Monaco, and the Order of the British Empire from the United Kingdom.
Bern's educational journey began at Lycée Carnot in Paris, culminating in a degree from the École de management de Lyon in 1985. His family roots trace back to Polish Jewish immigrants who settled in Switzerland and France prior to World War II. In October 2009, Bern publicly came out, sharing his journey in the magazine Têtu and in a documentary titled "Vie privée, vie publique," which aired on France 3.
He began his career as the editor of the magazine Dynasty from 1985 to 1987, before moving on to Jours de France in 1988. Since 1999, he has served as the deputy editor for the Events section of Le Figaro Madame. His radio career includes chronicling royal families on Europe 1 from 1992 to 1997 and participating in the popular show Les Grosses Têtes. Since 2000, Bern has hosted the widely acclaimed show Le Fou du roi on France Inter, consistently ranking as the most listened-to program in its time slot. Additionally, he has been co-hosting Historiquement Vôtre with Mathieu Noël on Europe 1 since September 2020.
