Shaniqua Okwok
Shaniqua Okwok is a talented British actress renowned for her compelling performances in television series. She gained significant recognition for her portrayal of Maia in the 2022 Paramount+ series *The Flatshare* and as Dominique in the Sky Max series *Wolfe* (2021). Her impressive body of work also includes notable roles such as Solly Babatunde in *It's a Sin* (2021), Patty in *Small Axe*, Lotta Nagel in *Van der Valk*, and Leah in *War of the Worlds*.
Born in Surrey to a Ugandan mother and Jamaican father, Okwok pursued her passion for the performing arts at The BRIT School and later graduated from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2018. Her talent was recognized early on when she received the Laurence Olivier Bursary Award from the Official London Theatre in 2017. Okwok made her television debut on BBC One in 2018, playing Helen Nedarson in *Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators*.
Though she initially aspired to become a stockbroker and planned to study economics at the London School of Economics, Okwok discovered her true calling in acting, which she describes as a path that "kept falling into place." Beyond her acting career, she is deeply committed to social justice, having led a campaign against racism during her time at drama school, advocating for the rights of minority actors in the industry.
