Joan McBride

Joan McBride is a versatile and accomplished actor hailing from Montreal, renowned for her dynamic performances across various artistic platforms, including stage, film, and voice-over work. Her meticulous attention to detail and ability to embody complex characters have earned her significant recognition in the industry.

Joan gained notable acclaim for her chilling portrayal of Betty, a psychopathic church lady, in the critically acclaimed horror film "End of the Line," produced by Maurice Deveraux Productions. Additionally, she appeared in the psychological drama "Woman in Car," which premiered at The Canadian Film Fest and The Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival in 2021, garnering favorable reviews. Her impressive filmography includes roles in productions such as "Fatal Trust" from CMJ Productions, "18 to Life" by Gala Films, "Abandon" from Paramount Pictures, ABC's "God Bless This Child," and Warner Brothers’ "FearDotCom."

Since relocating to Prince Edward County, Ontario, in 2014, Joan has remained an active contributor to the local performing arts scene. Her recent stage highlights include portraying Lucy Hopperstaad in Norm Foster's "On a First Name Basis" (2019) alongside the esteemed Canadian actor John Koensgen, and delivering a poignant performance as Emily Dickinson in William Luce's "The Belle of Amherst" (2017).

Looking ahead, Joan is set to shine in the role of Ruth Steiner in Donald Margulies' "Collected Stories" with County Roads Theatre Company in September 2022. To continuously hone her craft, she engages in various workshops, collaborating with her acting coach Gilles Plouffe and participating in self-tape auditions and improvisation training.

Beyond her film and theater work, Joan also excels in voice-over, contributing her talents to commercials and video games from her professional home studio, equipped for high-quality recordings.
