Evabritt Strandberg
Evabritt Strandberg, born on April 7, 1943, is a prominent Swedish actress and singer, hailing from the artistic Strandberg family. She is the half-sister of Charlott Strandberg and the granddaughter of Olle Strandberg, which reflects her deep roots in the arts.
Initially aspiring to become a veterinarian, Strandberg's academic challenges in math and science led her to pursue a career in theatre instead. She honed her craft at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy, graduating between 1962 and 1965. Her professional journey began at the Royal Dramatic Theatre, where she performed from 1965 to 1967, followed by a stint at the National Swedish Touring Theatre in 1967-68. From 1968 to 1983, she was a key player at the Gothenburg City Theatre, further establishing her reputation in the Swedish theatre scene.
In addition to her acting career, Strandberg made her mark as a recording artist, releasing her LP "En sång ett vapen" in 1965. She is known for her powerful interpretations of songs by notable artists including Jacques Brel, Édith Piaf, Lars Forssell, and Cornelis Vreeswijk. In recognition of her artistic contributions, she was awarded the Cornelis Vreeswijk Scholarship in 1995, celebrated for her "song-art of great buoyancy and strength," which encapsulates the complexities of life’s joys and sorrows—an essence she also brings to her acting. Strandberg has been married twice, first to Sven Wollter, with whom she has a daughter, Lina Wollter, and later to Lars-Erik Berenett, with whom she has a son, Matti Berenett.
