Scott Healy
Scott Healy is an accomplished keyboardist and composer based in Los Angeles, renowned for his role as the keyboardist for Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band on Conan, aired on TBS. His partnership with comedian Conan O'Brien began with the original "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and continued through the "Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien." Today, Healy is actively engaged in both jazz and rock music as a session musician, organist, accordionist, composer, arranger, and producer.
Over the years, Healy has collaborated with a diverse array of musical legends across rock, blues, R&B, and jazz, including icons like Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Al Green, B.B. King, Jackson Browne, and Tony Bennett. He leads his own ten-piece jazz ensemble, The Scott Healy Tentet, and is involved in various projects, such as scoring feature films and producing music. His compositions have been performed by notable ensembles, including the Portland Maine Symphony Orchestra and the Mel Lewis Orchestra.
A Cleveland, Ohio native and Eastman School of Music graduate, Healy studied under distinguished teachers such as Samuel Adler and Joseph Schwantner. He has contributed to Keyboard Magazine with his column "Session Sensei," offering insights into the music industry. His teaching experience includes positions at the New School for Social Research and as an Associate Professor at Sarah Lawrence College. He has received accolades from BMI, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, further showcasing his impact on the music scene.
