Michael Nyqvist
Rolf Åke Mikael Nyqvist, known widely as Michael Nyqvist, was a prominent Swedish actor born on November 8, 1960, and he passed away on June 27, 2017. He honed his craft at the School of Drama in Malmö, where he laid the foundation for a remarkable acting career. Nyqvist first garnered attention for his portrayal of police officer Banck in the 1997 adaptation of the Martin Beck series. His popularity continued to rise with his leading performance in the 2002 film Grabben i graven bredvid.
However, it was his role as investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the critically acclaimed Millennium trilogy that brought him international fame. Nyqvist also made a mark in Hollywood, playing formidable antagonists in major films such as Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, where he portrayed Kurt Hendricks, and John Wick, in which he took on the role of Viggo Tarasov.
