Jon Davison, born on July 21, 1949, in Haddonfield, New Jersey, has made a significant mark in the film industry. He pursued his passion for cinema at New York University's Film Institute, where he learned under the guidance of renowned director Martin Scorsese. While at NYU, Davison organized film retrospectives at the iconic Fillmore East in New York City. He began his professional journey managing the St. Marks Cinematheque, a notable movie theater in the city. Encouraged by fellow student Jonathan Kaplan, he relocated to Los Angeles in 1972, where he joined Roger Corman's New World Pictures as the director of advertising and publicity.

Davison made his foray into production with the film "Big Bad Mama," which marked the beginning of a fruitful career. He produced several cult classics, including the satirical "Hollywood Boulevard," Ron Howard's debut "Grand Theft Auto," and the cult horror-comedy "Piranha." After departing from New World Pictures in 1980, he collaborated with Jim Abrahams and the Zucker brothers on the iconic comedies "Airplane!" and "Top Secret!"

His production credits also include the beloved sci-fi films "RoboCop" and "Starship Troopers," as well as their sequels. Beyond producing, Davison contributed as a second unit director on projects like "Rock'n'Roll High School" and "The Howling," and made memorable cameo appearances, notably voicing the infamous ED-209 in "RoboCop." His diverse work has solidified his legacy in the film industry.
