Clyde Fillmore, born Clyde Van Nuys Fogel on October 25, 1876, in McConnelsville, Ohio, was a notable American actor whose career spanned both the silent film era and the golden age of Hollywood. He was the son of Millard Fillmore Fogel and Peninah H. "Nina" Hammond, and he hailed from a lineage of early Ohio settlers.
Fillmore’s filmography includes memorable performances in classic films such as *The More the Merrier* (1943), *Watch on the Rhine* (1943), and *The Shanghai Gesture* (1941), showcasing his versatility as both a character actor and a supporting player. In the 1920s, he made a name for himself at Paramount Pictures, where he often portrayed charmingly roguish characters. After a hiatus, he returned to Paramount in the 1940s, continuing to leave his mark on the cinematic landscape.
