Michael Lai Siu-Tin
Michael Lai Siu-tin (Chinese: 黎小田; Jyutping: lai4 siu2 tin4; November 8, 1946 – December 1, 2019) was a prominent figure in the Hong Kong music industry, recognized for his roles as a composer, record producer, and actor. Born in British Hong Kong to composer Lai Cho-tin and his wife, a literary critic, Lai cultivated his passion for music early on. He formed a close friendship with renowned Cantopop band leader Joseph Koo. His educational journey took him through La Salle College, where he further honed his creative talents.
Lai made his debut in the music arena during the 1950s and quickly gained recognition for his contributions. Alongside his musical endeavors, he also ventured into acting, appearing in several films from the 1950s through the 1990s, where he left a lasting impression with his performances. His multifaceted career spanned decades, with a significant impact on the Cantopop genre and the broader Hong Kong entertainment landscape.
