Mark Anthony Del Negro is the youngest of four siblings, born to Michael, a businessman and accountant, and Florence "Cookie," an artist and photographer. He hails from Springfield, Massachusetts, where he attended private Catholic schools before relocating to the nearby town of Agawam, which lies along the border of Massachusetts and Connecticut. Del Negro earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University in Boston and later obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from American International College in Springfield.

From 2000 to 2004, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Quartermaster during Operation Iraqi Freedom and throughout the Iraq War. Mark ventured into the film industry when he achieved a notable accolade, placing in the top 5% of the 2011 Nicholl Fellowship with his screenplay "The Road Back Home," a drama set during World War II.
