Tessa Pollitt
Tessa Pollitt, born Teresa Mary Clare Pollitt on May 7, 1959, is a prominent English musician recognized for her role as the bassist in the influential punk rock band, the Slits. Joining the group at just 16 years old, she stepped in to succeed the original bassist, Suzi Gutsy. Pollitt's tenure with the Slits spanned from 1976 until the band's dissolution in 1982, culminating in the release of their acclaimed second album, *Return of the Giant Slits*.
