Nagarjuna Akkineni
Akkineni Nagarjuna is a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, renowned for his work as an actor, producer, and television host, predominantly within Telugu cinema. With a prolific career spanning over three decades, Nagarjuna has appeared in more than ninety leading roles and has also taken on supporting and cameo parts in films across Bollywood and Tamil cinema. His talent has been recognized with an impressive collection of accolades, including nine Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards South, and a National Film Award for Special Mention.
In 1996, he made a significant mark as a producer with the film "Ninne Pelladata," which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu that year. Nagarjuna's influence extends beyond acting; in 2013, he showcased South Indian cinema at the Delhi Film Festival, celebrating 100 Years of Indian Cinema alongside notable filmmakers like Ramesh Sippy and Vishal Bhardwaj.
In 1995, Nagarjuna expanded his horizons by establishing a production unit in Seychelles and co-directing an Emmy Award-winning animation company in Michigan, USA. He shares ownership of Annapurna Studios with his brother, Akkineni Venkata Rathnam, and serves as president of the Annapurna International School of Film and Media in Hyderabad, a non-profit institution dedicated to nurturing future talent in the film industry.
