Kanjeng Raden Tumenggung Irwan Susetyo Pakusadewo, popularly known as Tio Pakusadewo, was born on September 2, 1963, in Jakarta, Indonesia. He is a prominent actor recognized for his significant contributions to Indonesian cinema, having received two Citra Awards for Best Leading Actor at the Indonesian Film Festival for his performances in *Lagu untuk Seruni* (1990) and *Identitas* (2008).

Tio's artistic inclinations surfaced early in life, beginning with dance lessons during his elementary school years. His passion for the performing arts flourished in high school, where he actively participated in the school’s theater group. After completing his education in 1985, he pursued further studies at the Jakarta Art Institute while also modeling. His film debut occurred in 1987 alongside Rano Karno in *Bilur-Bilur Penyesalan* (Stripes of Regret), an adaptation of Mira W.'s novel.

In 1988, Tio took on multiple roles, including one in *Catatan Si Boy II* (Boy's Diary II), enhancing his national profile. His career took off with his role in Garin Nugroho’s *Cinta Dalam Sepotong Roti* (Love in a Slice of Bread), which won the Citra Award for Best Film in 1991, the same year he clinched his first Citra Award for portraying an eccentric composer in *Lagu Untuk Seruni*.

Amid the decline of the Indonesian film industry in the early 1990s, Tio shifted focus to soap operas and launched his own production company, Kalbuku, in 1993. The company produced several successful series before facing financial difficulties and closing, coinciding with Tio's struggle with drug addiction. His final film of the millennium was *Kuldesak* (Dead End), released in 1999.
