Surabhi Lakshmi was born on November 16, 1986, to Andy and Radha in Narikkuni, Kozhikode, Kerala. Growing up alongside her sisters Subitha Santhosh and Sumitha Akhil, and brother Sudheesh Kumar, Surabhi found inspiration in her grandmother Lakshmi. She spent her formative years in Koolikkulangara, Mangad, and attended AUP School in Mangad for her education.

Surabhi's academic journey was marked by excellence; she earned a BA in Bharathanatyam in 2009 from Kaladi Sree Sankaracharya College, graduating with top honors while on a merit scholarship. She continued her studies at the same institution, achieving a Master of Arts in Theatre Arts in 2011 and an MPhil in Performing Arts from MG University in 2012. Currently, she is a research scholar at Kaladi Sree Sankaracharya College and received the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarship for best student in 2015.

Her passion for theatre blossomed early, earning her accolades such as the Kerala Sahitya Nataka Academy's Best Actress Award for her performance in Suvarna Theatre's ‘Yakshikathakalum Naattuvarthamanangalum’ in 2010. Surabhi also won the Best Actress Award in 2017 for ‘BOMBAY TAILORS’ and captured the Abu Dhabi Theatre Fest and Flowers TV Best Comedian Award in 2010 and 2016, respectively.

Gaining fame from the reality show ‘Best Actor’ on Amrita TV, Surabhi has since appeared in numerous films, including a significant role in the 2016 movie ‘Minnaminungu’ directed by Anil Thomas. She has also starred in the popular television series ‘M80 Moosa’ and participated in various commercials, showcasing her versatility as an actress.
