Chen Cuichang, widely recognized by her stage name Xiang Yun, is a celebrated Singaporean actress and television host with a remarkable career spanning over 29 years. Hailing from the inaugural group of graduates from the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation's (SBC) drama training program, she made her acting debut in children's drama in 1980.

Xiang Yun's rise to prominence began with her notable performances in the 1983 series "Double Blessings" and "All That Glitters Is Not Gold." However, it was her portrayal of "Ah Mei" in the acclaimed 1984 drama "The Awakening," opposite Huang Wenyong's "Ah Shui," that solidified her status as a household name. Their chemistry earned them recognition as one of the "Top 5 Favourite On-Screen Partners" at the Star Awards 2007.

In 1997, she took on the role of war heroine Elizabeth Choy in "The Price of Peace," showcasing her versatility as an actress. After a brief hiatus following the birth of her second child, Xiang Yun returned to the screen in 2000, starring in several major productions, including "Double Happiness," "Portrait of Home," "The Little Nyonya," and "Kinship."

Despite the influx of younger talent, her popularity remained steadfast, with consistent appearances in the "Top 10 Most Popular Artistes" list at the Star Awards from 2000 to 2010. She has also garnered the prestigious "All-Time Favourite Artiste Award" and holds the record for winning the "Best Supporting Actress" award four times between 1998 and 2009.
