Donna Garrett, a talented stuntwoman, stunt coordinator, and actress, was born Donna Lee Funk on November 17, 1942, in Santa Ana, California. Raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, she pursued a degree in physical education at L.A. Valley Junior College. In 1961, Donna crossed paths with her future husband, Ralph Garrett, during a rehearsal for the acrobatic square dance group, Homer Garrett's Why-Not Twirlers, and they wed three years later in 1964.

Garrett embarked on her stunt career in the mid-1960s, quickly making a name for herself in the film industry. She has notably doubled for prominent actresses such as Raquel Welch, Jacqueline Bisset, Angie Dickinson, Barbra Streisand, and Ali MacGraw. In addition to her stunt work, Donna has appeared in minor roles in various films and television series.

In the 1970s, she was a co-founder of the Stuntwomen's Association of Motion Pictures, an organization dedicated to supporting women in the stunt profession, where she also served as Vice President. Throughout her career, Donna Garrett has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry, breaking barriers for women in a predominantly male field and establishing herself as a respected figure in stunts and film.
