David Russell Leisure, born on November 16, 1950, is a prominent American actor renowned for his memorable portrayal of Charley Dietz in the beloved sitcom *Empty Nest*, which aired from 1988 to 1995. He gained widespread recognition as the comically deceptive automotive spokesperson Joe Isuzu in a series of commercials for Isuzu, first appearing from 1986 to 1990 and later reprising the role from 1999 to 2001.

Leisure's extensive television career includes appearances in a variety of shows such as *Sabrina, the Teenage Witch*, *One on One*, *V.I.P.*, *Diagnosis: Murder*, *The Parent 'Hood*, and *Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show*, among others. He was born in San Diego and completed his education at Grossmont High School and Grossmont College in El Cajon, California, before attending San Diego State University.

In addition to his television roles, Leisure made a notable cameo as the "First Krishna" in the 1980 classic film *Airplane!* and appeared as a high school soccer coach in the 1999 film *10 Things I Hate About You*. More recently, he has revived his Joe Isuzu persona to feature in commercials for various personal injury law firms. He also had a role as Roger Wilkes on *The Young and the Restless* in early 2009 and has been seen as Salem District Attorney Woods on *Days of Our Lives* since July 2010. Leisure lent his voice to the character Metus in the animated film *BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn*.
