Sami Outalbali
Sami Outalbali, born on March 19, 1999, in Poissy, Yvelines, is a notable French actor of Moroccan and Guadeloupean heritage. He began his performing career at a young age, appearing in a Disney commercial at just three years old. His first acting credit came in 2006 with the France 3 television film *Il faut sauver Saïd*, followed by a minor role in the comedy film *Les Tuche* in 2011.
Outalbali gained significant recognition with his portrayal of Ilyes in the OCS teen drama *Grown Ups* (2016-2019), where he depicted a gay high school student navigating his sexuality. His career continued to flourish with appearances in the Arte miniseries *Proud* (2018) and films such as *Lola* and *Un vrai bonhomme* in 2019. That same year, he took on a key role in the Netflix supernatural series *Mortel*, playing Reda, a missing teen.
His breakthrough role came in the Netflix comedy-drama *Sex Education* (2020-2021), where he played Rahim, a French exchange student who becomes romantically involved with Eric Effiong. This marked Outalbali's first major English-language role. In 2021, he starred in *A Tale of Love and Desire*, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and earned him nominations for Best Male Revelation at the Lumières Awards and Most Promising Actor at the César Awards.
In addition to his acting, Outalbali served on the jury for the 5th Canneseries festival in April 2022 and appeared in the film *Novembre*.
