David Terrell

David R. Terrell, a native of Los Angeles, California, grew up as the eldest of five children in his family. He demonstrated remarkable athletic talent during his years at Thomas Jefferson High School, excelling in both basketball and baseball. His prowess on the mound made him one of the top-ranked pitchers in the Los Angeles Southern League, catching the eye of the legendary Don Newcomb, a Cy Young Award winner with the Dodgers. Newcomb extended an invitation for David to join the Dodgers for a tryout. Unfortunately, due to a combination of youthful hubris and tardiness—arriving two weeks late to camp—David missed this pivotal opportunity, learning a crucial lesson about commitment and timing.

Undeterred, David embraced a vibrant life filled with diverse experiences. He dedicated 25 years to driving buses for the Metropolitan Transit Authority, previously known as RTD. Throughout this time, he also showcased his dance skills as a featured dancer on the iconic television show "Soul Train" from 1982 to 1991. His charisma and talent earned him a special place among Don Cornelius' favorites on the show, allowing him to leave a lasting impression on the dance scene. Today, David Terrell continues to embody the spirit of resilience and passion in everything he does.
