Nina Dobrev

Nikolina Konstantinova Dobreva, known professionally as Nina Dobrev, was born on January 9, 1989, in Sofia, Bulgaria, and later moved to Toronto, Canada, where she grew up. Dobrev launched her acting career with a notable role as Mia Jones in the popular Canadian teen drama series, Degrassi: The Next Generation. However, she rose to international fame for her dual portrayal of Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce in the hit supernatural drama series The Vampire Diaries on The CW.

Initially, Dobrev took on minor roles in various films, but her success on television opened doors to a diverse film career. She starred in the critically acclaimed coming-of-age film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), and appeared in comedic features such as Let's Be Cops and The Final Girls (both released in 2014). In 2017, she achieved significant commercial success with her role in XXX: Return of Xander Cage. Dobrev continued to explore romantic comedies, featuring in films like Dog Days and Then Came You, both released in 2018, and Love Hard in 2021. She also took on a leading role in the sitcom Fam, which aired in 2019, showcasing her versatility as an actress in both drama and comedy genres.
