Joseph Chi Chiong Chavez

Joseph Chi Chiong Chavez, born in 1953 in South America, is the son of an Ecuadorian physician and a mother of Peruvian-Chinese descent. Initially pursuing a college education, Chi left before completing his degree to follow his passion for speed as an amateur race car driver in Hong Kong. During this period, he connected with a community of stunt drivers, which would later influence his career trajectory.

In 1978, a pivotal moment occurred when Chi visited friends on a film set and seized the opportunity to participate in a daring stunt that involved a car crashing into a wall of glass. This experience propelled him into the film industry, marking the beginning of his journey as a stuntman. By the early 1980s, Chi's talent and dedication earned him a promotion to action choreographer, where he began to craft and coordinate thrilling sequences for various productions.
