Kevin L. Johnson
Kevin L. Johnson is a seasoned actor, widely recognized for his portrayal of 'Sam Dermody' in Netflix's acclaimed series "Ozark," starring alongside Jason Bateman and Laura Linney. What began as a two-episode cameo in the first season evolved into a recurring role throughout all four seasons of the series. Johnson is set to appear next as 'Eric' in Netflix's upcoming show "Florida Man," which is also produced by Bateman, and he will guest star in the fan-favorite series "Stranger Things."
Kevin's passion for acting ignited during his time at Clemson University. An assignment as an English major prompted him to attend a performance of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." Inspired by the show, he immediately enrolled in acting classes. Although his first audition at Clemson didn't land him a role, he joined the tech crew, gaining invaluable insights into production.
His stage career took off with a leading role as 'Sam' in "Crossing Delancey," followed by playing 'Oswald' in a production of "King Lear." Additional notable theatre performances include 'Willy Wonka' in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," 'Bardolph' in "Henry V," and 'Wally' in "1940's Radio Hour." Johnson, who discovered his singing talent through a cast recording of "Urinetown," graduated from Clemson with an English degree and an advertising minor.
Subsequently, he secured an agent and began to book commercials, including for the North Carolina State Lottery and Burger King, before landing his first television role in "One Tree Hill." His film debut came with "My Redneck Roots," followed by a lead in "Destiny Road."
