Andreas Filippidis (January 6, 1919 – January 8, 1989) was a prominent Greek actor, born in Athens to a family steeped in the performing arts; his father was the noted musical theatre actor Manos Filippidis. He pursued his education at the Drama School of the National Theatre while also studying law at the University of Athens. Filippidis made his acting debut in 1943 with Mrs. Katerina's troupe, performing in Eugene O'Neill's "Strange Intermezzo" as the character Gordon, sharing the stage with notable actors like Vasso Manolidou and Dimitris Horn.

Throughout his illustrious career, he was associated with the National Theatre from 1946 to 1957, where he took on leading roles, and he also contributed his talents to the State Theatre of Northern Greece and the Free Theatre. In addition to acting, Filippidis was an accomplished director, staging works by great playwrights including Chekhov and Molière. His influence extended beyond acting; he dedicated two decades to teaching at the Theodosiadis Drama School, shaping the next generation of actors.

Filippidis also made significant contributions to Greek cinema and was involved in various radio and television projects. Following the fall of the dictatorship in Greece, he was elected as the vice-president of the Greek Actors' Union, reflecting his commitment to the artistic community. His legacy remains influential in Greek theatre and film.
