Nelson Pereira dos Santos

Nelson Pereira dos Santos ComRB • OMC (October 22, 1928 – April 21, 2018) was a distinguished Brazilian film director, producer, and screenwriter whose career spanned six decades and significantly shaped the landscape of Brazilian cinema. Born in São Paulo, he emerged as a pivotal figure in the Cinema Novo movement, which sought to depict the realities of Brazilian life through innovative storytelling.
