J. Michael Finley
J. Michael Finley, born John Michael Finley in Jonesboro, Arkansas, grew up in Lebanon, Missouri, as one of five siblings in the Finley family, led by parents Wayne and Betsy. His passion for performing emerged during his junior high years, prompting him to pursue acting and singing. Finley honed his craft at Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts and embarked on his professional journey in the vibrant theater scene of Chicago. His impressive stage repertoire includes performances at renowned venues such as the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Paramount Theatre, Marriott Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, Writers' Theatre, Court Theatre, and Mercury Theatre.
In 2015, Finley took a significant step in his career by relocating to New York City, where he made his Broadway debut in "Les Miserables," showcasing his talent as part of the ensemble and serving as the understudy for the iconic role of Jean Valjean. His film career began with the inspirational drama "I Can Only Imagine," in which he portrayed Christian music legend Bart Millard, earning him widespread recognition and praise. Following this, he returned to Broadway as the standby for Elder Cunningham in "The Book of Mormon."
Finley further expanded his horizons in 2018 by making his West End debut in the same role in "The Book of Mormon." He is set to reprise his acclaimed portrayal of Bart Millard in the upcoming sequel to "I Can Only Imagine," scheduled for release in 2026.
