Choi Seung-yoon

Choi Seung-yoon is a talented dancer, choreographer, and actor, residing in Seoul, South Korea. Her artistic journey began at the tender age of five when she took up ballet. She further honed her skills by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in dance from Ewha Womans University. In the early stages of her career, Choi showcased her entrepreneurial spirit by producing and performing in her own dance projects, which garnered support from prestigious organizations such as Arts Council Korea and the Seoul Art Council. Her innovative choreography has been featured by notable institutions, including the Korea National Contemporary Dance Company and Tanzfabrik Berlin, as well as the European Lab Forum.

In her acting endeavors, Choi has made her mark in various productions, including the acclaimed web series Deux Yeoza, Dxyz—an Emmy-nominated short-form series in 2019—and Family Portrait. Notably, in 2019, she took on the dual role of co-director and lead actress in the fiction-documentary film I By You By Everybody. This poignant film explores the lives of dancers in Seoul and received accolades at several film festivals, such as the Busan International Film Festival and Doclisboa. Choi's multifaceted talents continue to enrich the arts scene in South Korea and beyond.
