Rondi Reed
Rondi Reed has had a prolific career in theater, particularly with Chicago's esteemed Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where she has participated in an impressive 51 productions. Her Broadway journey began with notable performances in "The Rise and Fall of Little Voice" in 1994 and "The Grapes of Wrath" in 1990. A significant milestone in her career was on July 13, 2005, when she debuted as Madame Morrible in the Chicago staging of the hit musical "Wicked."
In 2007, Reed originated the role of Mattie Fae Aiken in the Broadway production of "August: Osage County," a performance that earned her the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play in 2008. Following this success, she reprised her role as Madame Morrible in "Wicked" in Chicago from June 27 to November 18, 2008, after which she took her talents to London to revisit Mattie Fae Aiken.
Her journey with "Wicked" continued on Broadway, where she returned to the role of Madame Morrible from March 17, 2009, to June 27, 2010, before starring in the Australian run of "August" in Sydney. Reed made her way back to the New York production of "Wicked" for a limited engagement from July 31, 2017, to January 28, 2018.
In addition to her stage work, Reed has made memorable appearances on television, including a guest spot on "Seinfeld" and as Peggy Biggs in the CBS sitcom "Mike & Molly." She also portrayed Jackie's therapist on "Roseanne," showcasing her versatility across different mediums.
