Edward Nathan George Jr. (born September 24, 1973) is a distinguished American football coach and former player, currently serving as the head football coach at Tennessee State University. He had a successful nine-season career as a running back in the National Football League (NFL), predominantly with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans franchise. George’s remarkable college career at Ohio State University culminated in winning the prestigious Heisman Trophy in 1995, and he was subsequently selected in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft.

Throughout his professional tenure, George showcased his talents with the Tennessee Titans and briefly with the Dallas Cowboys. His contributions to the sport earned him recognition, leading to his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011 and the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2020. A significant moment in his legacy was the retirement of his jersey during a halftime ceremony on September 15, 2019, as the Titans faced off against the Indianapolis Colts.
