Tomas Boykin
Tomas Boykin, a Philadelphia native, was born into a family rich in musical heritage, with a father who was a musician and a mother dedicated to nurturing the family. Growing up in the vibrant arts scene of the "City of Brotherly Love," Boykin was encouraged from an early age to explore his creative talents, participating in school plays as early as third grade. He credits several supportive teachers in the Philadelphia public school system, who were active in local theater, for nurturing his passion. Although he pursued a pre-law degree with a major in criminal justice during college, his involvement in productions such as "A Chorus Line," "Pippin," and "Oklahoma" laid the foundation for a successful acting career.
After training and performing in both Philadelphia and New York City—ranging from children's theatre to national tours—Boykin made a significant move to Los Angeles through the Actors Equity Association's lottery. His stage career flourished with notable performances, including the role of Albert Brickhouse in Sheri Bailey’s adaptation of Nella Larsen’s "Passing" and Crooks in Steinbeck’s "Of Mice and Men."
Boykin's film career began with his debut in "Among Thieves" in 1999, followed by roles in films such as "I Am," "3 From Hell," and the acclaimed "Dead Mail," which premiered at SXSW 2024. His television work includes appearances on Fox's "Lucky Chance," NBC's "Parenthood," and ABC's "How To Get Away with Murder." With a diverse and dynamic portfolio, Boykin continues to emerge as a notable figure in the entertainment industry.
